Lectures and Seminares


An introduction to Forensic Psychiatry is given to medical students as part of the courses on General Psychiatry. All doctors and psychologists of the Department are involved in the training courses of the Psychiatric Hospital. Special courses in Forensic Psychiatry are offered to postgraduate students and interns and an interdisciplinary lecture is held to medical and law students as well as to students of psychology, sociology and pedagogics. Individual cases are presented and the patients are asked to participate in this lecture to state his or her point of view on a strictly voluntary basis. Attendends of this lecture as well as of all lectures in medicine involving patients are obliged to discretion according to the German penal code. Ethical and legal questions in psychiatry is another important topic of research and teaching within the department of Forensic Psychiatry.
